Freeman.SignificanceCricket was a very popular game in early South Australia, although many of the earlier 'clubs' seem to have been somewhat casual associations that formed for a season or two. In Port Adelaide, matches were regularly held between rival businesses and with crews in Port. The Outer Harbor Club had a strong connection with visiting ship traffic, often challenging steamer crews to cricket matches. Their annual social was held at the Missions to Seamenâ€™s' Hall.
