This particular badge was sold by South Australian branches of the Red Cross appeal for the T. & P.D. Soldiers Association (Totally & Permanently Disabled). The cause was established to support returned wounded servicemen of WWII. The object is a testimony to the contribution of the South Australian people to the war effort.
