This dress is part of the Beth Catford costume collection, which contains a wide range of costume and accessories, numbering in the region of 2000 individual items dating between the 1830s and 1970s.
In 1971 Beth Catford inherited the nucleus of a costume collection from her aunt Therese Innes and went on to build it into a notable collection of great historical significance.
