DecriptionThe Detmold Group has been a manufacturer of sustainable packaging since 1948. To support SA Health and the broader community in the fight against COVID-19, the Group diversified into the manufacture of face masks.
The Detmold Group was approached by the State and Federal Governments to localise manufacturing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to ensure frontline healthcare workers had access to supply of protective equipment.
Detmold Medical was founded in April 2020, and utilized the existing global and local knowledge of the Detmold Group, alongside significant collaboration with multiple stakeholders to become Australia's largest manufacturer of face masks.
The manufacturing facility itself was rapidly established in just 16 weeks, with 22 machines commissioned and almost 300 people employed to support the local manufacturing of face masks.
On just the six month anniversary of Detmold Medical's existence, the manufacturer was recognised with the SA Health Partnership Award for 2020.
And now, thanks to key collaborations with industry experts alongside a global footprint executed with local knowledge, Detmold Medical looks forward to becoming a long-term supplier to the medical and wellbeing industry.
