ProvenanceThe Isol Diaries' installation of ten artworks capture what people have been up to during the COVID- 19 pandemic. This Isol diary illustrates the theme of Zoom meetings from home.
Bob Daly and Kalyna Micenko from SpinFX Australia applied for one of the COVID 19 artist’s grants offered by Port Adelaide Enfield Council in May 2020. The artists asked people in the community to share with them their experiences of the pandemic and then created brightly coloured artworks in latched boxes and installed them on poles in the park facing their studio on the corner of Menpes Street and McLaren Parade, Port Adelaide, in August 2020.SignificanceThe 'History in the Making: Collecting South Australia during COVID-19' project aims to collect objects relating to both, individual South Australians’ experience of the pandemic and the operation of businesses, charities, and government institutions during the pandemic.

These brightly coloured artworks are designed to reflect life during the first year of the pandemic and offer cheer during these strange times.Thematically they cover various aspects of people’s lives during this period including home schooling, zoom meetings, spending way too much on online shopping, embracing new hobbies such as gardening, painting and baking bread, sewing masks and sending care packages, and bunkering down at home. Installed in Port Adelaide, the public was able to interact with the artworks and open the doors and guess the activities pictured.DescriptionThis is a brightly coloured artwork in form of a house with two doors at the front that open to reveal a painted picture inside. Each creme coloured door has a window painted on it, one with a rainbow, the other with a teddy bear.
