ProvenanceThe iron and trivet was a gift to Marion de Boehme in 1917 when she was 4 years old.SignificanceDemonstration of the kinds of leisurely activities common amongst young girls in the early 20th century. DescriptionThe trivet stands on three legs that are 1cm high. The base of the trivet itself is composed of heart-shaped scrollwork. There is a 5.5cm piece of scrollwork that extends out of the back of the trivet. This could have been purely decorative or it may have been a handle of some kind. The iron has a base that fits on top of the trivet and also has a handle. Both have black paint marks that have since eroded.
